Truro - about 5 miles
Falmouth - about 9 miles
Feock Vicarage occupies a coveted, elevated setting next to the Church in the very heart of the village, facing south over its own gardens with simply glorious views down into Pill Creek and out towards the sailing waters of the Carrick Roads, taking in Mylor Churchtown and the surrounding countryside of the Fal Estuary. Indeed both Loe Beach and Pill Creek are just a short walk from the house.
Set in private gardens and grounds, including woodland and lawns, this house offers generous, well proportioned living space over three storeys with creek and estuary views from many of the rooms. The private driveway offers ample parking and turning space for several cars and/or boats.
HISTORY
It is understood that the orginal Vicarage on this site burnt down in the 1800s, and the current building was constructed by the Church as its replacement. This is the first time it has been available for sale as a private dwelling. We understand the property is NOT Listed.
The pretty parish of Feock has long been regarded as one of the most exclusive waterside locations in Cornwall and with considerable justification. Ideally positioned at the head of the Carrick Roads, Feock is home to some of the most sought after properties in the county.
Situated between the cathedral city of Truro and the historic port of Falmouth, there is immediate access to some of the best daysailing waters in the British Isles. The Carrick Roads offers an ever-changing marine viewing gallery, with the Falmouth Working Boats dredging oysters, ships laying-up at Trelissick, and of course Loe Beach regatta, one of the summer's most popular village regattas. There are also moorings and lay-up facilities at Loe Beach, and a popular beach café and sailing school. The historic National Trust-owned Trelissick Estate lies almost immediately to the east where the King Harry ferry crosses to the beautiful and unspoilt Roseland Peninsula.
Hard to believe in such an idyllic marine setting, the schools and shops of Truro are only about 5 miles distant. There is a mainline rail link to London Paddington whilst Newquay airport now provides regular flights to London besides many other European destinations. To the south, Falmouth is home to a wide range of marine facilities including yacht marinas, the landmark National Maritime Museum Cornwall and the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club.
From Truro, follow the main A39 in the Falmouth direction, turning left at the second roundabout for Feock. At the first crossroads, turn left towards Trelissick and the King Harry Ferry. Take the first fork right to Feock, and then turn right at the next T-junction. Continue down the hill past Pill Lane and the head of the creek and follow into Feock itself. The gated entrance to the Vicarage will be found on the left hand side, just after the Church car park, and opposite a sharp right hand bend in the road.
